LOSTwatermarked

“For her, being lost was not in reference to geography, but about identity. To find out who she was meant to be and become, and to release the ties of what others thought she ought to be. To be lost is to be fully present and capable of being, amidst all uncertainty and mystery.”

———–

This was the second fine art piece I completed using self-portraiture.  We were shooting in an abandoned building, the old Watson Paper Factory in Erie, PA USA.  Now overrun with homeless people, rotting paper and wood, and decaying and falling in ceilings and walls….it seemed an ideal location to shoot “Lost”.

I shot this with the help of a fellow friend and photographer. I dressed myself in a flowing ball gown for the contrast of the two ideals (decaying setting/building with formal dresswear).  So many times in our lives, we try to be who others want and need us to be….and we forget (or ignore) the ideals and dreams we had for ourselves in the process.  To follow your dreams takes courage, to ignore them may seem easy. Being who others expect us to be is certainly a road to less criticism from others…after all, we are making their lives easier .  We are conforming.   Upon doing so, that part of us…that innermost core of who we are supposed to be, gets lost.  What a boring world this would be if we were all the same.  We were all created uniquely.  We all have a purpose in our life.  We need to listen to our calling and explore it, follow it, nurture it, and see what path (or many paths) it will lead us down.  We need to find out who we are.  That’s why we are here on this earth.

It will be a mystery, and there will be much uncertainty.  However, if you listen to the inner voice that is calling to you quietly, you will begin to discover yourself.  I send out love to all of you who are on this path.  It isn’t always the easiest one to take, but it is without a doubt the most fulfilling and leads to inner peace and happiness like you can’t imagine.  ❤

Namaste,

Christine

Namasté- “My soul honors your soul. I honor the place in you where the entire universe resides. I honor the light, love, truth, beauty, and peace within you, because it is also within me. In sharing these things we are united, we are the same, we are one.”

My latest fine art print, one I have been wanting to do for a long time, is finished! Levitation photography is fascinating to me.  I hope you enjoy the final image as much as I enjoyed creating it!  In light of all the current unrest in our world, I would like to say “Namasté to you all….and hope you find the light and love within yourself and others as much as possible. To quote John Lennon:  “Peace is not something you wish for;  it’s something you make, something you do, something you are, and something you give away.”

XOXO ~ Christine

“She finally had to go….and leave behind the place and the people who had hurt her. But then….then she realized….the hardest pain to escape was that which she created in her own mind. The journey had begun.”

It’s been so long since I have posted on my blog.  I hope some of my followers are still here and may still remember me.  I am going to try to do this more, and share with you what I have been up to for so long.

So here’s the basic scoop:  I needed to Escape.

This past winter was a long, hard one for me, and I needed something to pull me through.  Something to help me pick up the pieces of my broken self.  I won’t get into how ~or why~ I was broken; we have all been there at one point or…

Welcome back to the Blog

I looked at my blog the other day.  I knew it had been a long time; and in fact the longer it had been, the longer I stayed away.  But, finally, I came back.  It has been a year and a half since I have posted here.  Sad, but true.  So i decided the best way to get back into a photography blog was with a session of “selfies”, to let you see how much I have aged in the past year.  😉 Self portraits are always the hardest sessions for me.  I much prefer to be behind the camera – not in front of it.  But I think it helps me grow as a photog to do them from time to time.  So here they are.  Enjoy! ~ Christine 🙂

JoJo’s Story

My name is JoJo, and I just adopted my new family.

I’m sure they feel as lucky to have found me as I do to have found them.  My new mommy saw a post about me on the local animal network on Facebook.  A neighbor of hers had found me wandering the streets all alone, looking for help.  The neighbor could not keep me, as she was going on vacation, so my new mommy wanted to help. She came and met me, and we fell in love with each other right away.  My new mommy wasn’t really looking for a new kitty; but I was in need of a new family, and so I am so thankful that we found each other.

There are lots of little children at my new home, and there are other kitties and doggies for me to play with. I am so happy I purr all the time, and my mommy says I am one of the friendliest kitties she has ever had.

My new mommy happens to be a photographer, so she took this picture of me this morning.

I have brought lots of smiles and happiness to my new family.  The laugh when I play, they love to hold me, and we all love to snuggle.  I am pretty sure I brought just as much love to their life as they brought to mine.

My name is JoJo.  I have a very happy beginning to my story now.  I hope my newfound happiness might inspire someone to adopt a homeless kitty of their own.  We can bring so much joy to someones life, if only given a chance.  🙂
