Namasté- “My soul honors your soul. I honor the place in you where the entire universe resides. I honor the light, love, truth, beauty, and peace within you, because it is also within me. In sharing these things we are united, we are the same, we are one.”
My latest fine art print, one I have been wanting to do for a long time, is finished! Levitation photography is fascinating to me. I hope you enjoy the final image as much as I enjoyed creating it! In light of all the current unrest in our world, I would like to say “Namasté to you all….and hope you find the light and love within yourself and others as much as possible. To quote John Lennon: “Peace is not something you wish for; it’s something you make, something you do, something you are, and something you give away.”

“Escape” ~ © Christine Erin Photography 2015
“She finally had to go….and leave behind the place and the people who had hurt her. But then….then she realized….the hardest pain to escape was that which she created in her own mind. The journey had begun.”
It’s been so long since I have posted on my blog. I hope some of my followers are still here and may still remember me. I am going to try to do this more, and share with you what I have been up to for so long.
So here’s the basic scoop: I needed to Escape.
This past winter was a long, hard one for me, and I needed something to pull me through. Something to help me pick up the pieces of my broken self. I won’t get into how ~or why~ I was broken; we have all been there at one point or another. It was something that I allowed to happen and something that I had to fix on my own. My family is, was, and always has been there for me; but when I got into this place I needed to get myself out….on my own…in my own way. So I turned to my photography. I started to explore things. Dream things. Challenge myself. Eventually…..finally….. I took to the one thing that has always made me the most uncomfortable, and made myself do it: Self-portraiture.
I delved into this world and took pictures of myself. I had the messages (see the message below the picture – above) and photo titles in my mind before I took the shots. I exposed my soul, I exposed my thoughts, I exposed my weaknesses…. I exposed what I was capable of both on camera and in the editing area. Then I began to realize, I was starting to heal.
“Escape” wasn’t the first fine art project that I did. In fact it was about the 7th or 8th. However, it’s the one that speaks to me the most about why I started to do it. So, in starting to share my fine art photography with all my fellow blogger friends, I felt it was appropriate to share this image and quote first. I look forward to backtracking and sharing them all with you as the weeks pass…and sharing my new creations with you as I make them.
“Escape”, as well as my other fine art prints, are available for purchase through galleries nationwide. This print available as a 20×30 acrylic print at Romantique Boutique Vintage Marketplace in Erie, PA. Please email Christine at: firstname.lastname@example.org for gallery information and number.
I looked at my blog the other day. I knew it had been a long time; and in fact the longer it had been, the longer I stayed away. But, finally, I came back. It has been a year and a half since I have posted here. Sad, but true. So i decided the best way to get back into a photography blog was with a session of “selfies”, to let you see how much I have aged in the past year. 😉 Self portraits are always the hardest sessions for me. I much prefer to be behind the camera – not in front of it. But I think it helps me grow as a photog to do them from time to time. So here they are. Enjoy! ~ Christine 🙂
My name is JoJo, and I just adopted my new family.
I’m sure they feel as lucky to have found me as I do to have found them. My new mommy saw a post about me on the local animal network on Facebook. A neighbor of hers had found me wandering the streets all alone, looking for help. The neighbor could not keep me, as she was going on vacation, so my new mommy wanted to help. She came and met me, and we fell in love with each other right away. My new mommy wasn’t really looking for a new kitty; but I was in need of a new family, and so I am so thankful that we found each other.
There are lots of little children at my new home, and there are other kitties and doggies for me to play with. I am so happy I purr all the time, and my mommy says I am one of the friendliest kitties she has ever had.
My new mommy happens to be a photographer, so she took this picture of me this morning.
I have brought lots of smiles and happiness to my new family. The laugh when I play, they love to hold me, and we all love to snuggle. I am pretty sure I brought just as much love to their life as they brought to mine.
My name is JoJo. I have a very happy beginning to my story now. I hope my newfound happiness might inspire someone to adopt a homeless kitty of their own. We can bring so much joy to someones life, if only given a chance. 🙂
